2017 Blog Giveaway #2

Right on the coattails of announcing the winner of Giveaway # 1, is the post announcing the 2nd Giveaway item. Be sure to view the previous post to see who won.

Here to help us with the announcement are some old and new residents of Hanaly Corners.

"Hello everybody! Can you guess what we all have in common? You say we are all beautiful -- that is true! But we are also all Curvy gals! We love our curves and before we tell you about this next giveaway item, we would like to tell you a little about ourselves."

Introducing from Left to Right:  "Hi, I am a Curvy Fashionista # 57 Zig Zag. I have have been given a sassy short haircut and the very pink lipstick has been wiped from my lips. I like this look so much better! My name is Sabrina Watson, but you can call me Brini, like the rest of my friends do."

"Well hello, friends! I am a Barbie Basics Red Collection Model #8 which was offered exclusively by Target in 2010. I have been in Hanaly Corners for quite a few years now. I came in 2010! I have had quite a few changes since I have been here. My original body was a Model Muse body. As you know, those are beautiful bodies, but are devoid of much movement as they are pretty stiff bodies. I was given an AA Dynamite Girl Body at first and it was a beautiful body but the color match was not perfect. When the human purchased a Dynamite Girl head that matched that body better, I had another surgery and was put on an Artsy body, even though the skintone was a terrible match. I dressed in turtle neck sweaters so you could not notice it so much. Then, as luck would have it, the human purchased a Pop Life Christie doll and it was a great match for me! I had that body until a few days ago when I saw a  Madame Lavinia doll come in as a body donor and asked if I could have it! Although the body may have been intended for a different doll, since I have been through so much, the human gave in and performed what I hope to be my last operation! I love my new curves! Don't you think they suit me well?! My name is Roxanne Porter, but I prefer Roxy!"

Time for a closeup of Brini and Roxy!
From L to R: Fashionista #37 Sweetheart Stripes, Fashionista # 51 Polka Dot Fun, Barbie Careers Pop Star Doll.
All three girls say at once: "Hello everybody! We all have been in Hanaly corners a while now!"
Sweetheart Stripes: "I have been here the longest of the 3 of us, but have not yet been named. Maybe you can help the human come up with something good! For now, everybody just call me Sweetheart!"
Polka Dot Fun: "I don't have a name yet either, but what can you call a girl whose tag is Polka Dot Fun! What, you say how about "Dot"?? I do kind of like that! so for now at least, I will be called Dot!"
Pop Star: "Well, since you are all giving yourself names, I will give myself one too! You can call me Star because I am one!"
Closeups for Sweetheart, Dot and Star!
Oh, the reason we are here! We need to announce the second giveaway item!
Sweetheart: "I'll handle this ladies. After all, I am front and center! Do you all remember the boys you met for the 1st giveaway item announcement? Well . . ."
Dot interrupts: "Especially that cutie Nicholas! Although I would just love to help him with his hair and get him some new clothes!"
Star: "You can say that again! I could really give him some Pop Star pointers!"
Sweetheart: "I saw him talking to Katie Lamm. I think you missed your chance, Dot!"
Dot: "Umm, Katie is his sister!"
Brini: "Ahh, ladies, we are supposed to be introducing the next giveaway item!"
Dot, Star and Sweetheart step aside as Brini and Roxy point to the box with the giveaway item.
Roxy: "And her it is! A NRFB Lammily Boy Pet Rescuer doll!
Sweetheart: "Ahh, is that Nicholas???!!!
Star: "I don't think so! Maybe his brother or a cousin or something!"
Brini: "No, we still have our Nicholas Lamm in Hanaly Corners. This fellow will go to a lucky winner and they can name him whatever they want too!"Sweetheart gives a sigh of relief!

2017 Annual Blog Giveaway, Giveaway #1

And now what you have all been waiting for -- my 2017 Annual Blog Giveaway! Once again, there will be multiple items to be offered. I will be using the same format as before and presenting each item separately one at a time. The rules will follow at the end of the post.

To help me with item number 1, I have enlisted a couple of the new male residents in Hanaly Corners. Let's meet them first:

I had 2 Justin Bieber dolls and donated the body of one of them to another doll. The head for this guy has been rolling around at the bottom of my spare parts box for a while, but as I was reorganizing I found his head. I had purchased an Ever After High Alistair doll to use as a body donor for a Ken doll, but the skin was lighter than I thought. However, it was a good match for the Justin Bieber doll. I didn't want him to be just like the other Justin doll I had, so I made some changes to his hair.

"Hello everbody! I was originally a Justin Bieber doll, but I have been modified and am now called Jared. I do have an older brother Justin, but I think I am much cuter than he is."
"After getting this new body, the human decided to change my hair. I do have to tell you that I think she did a pretty good job. "
I washed his hair first and then removed half of it. After cropping it as close to his head as I could get it with scissors, I used a razor to shave it even closer. What I couldn't get off with the razor, I used a toothpick to push through the plugs in his head. He has a pretty hard head, and because I wanted to leave part of the hair, I used this process and it worked pretty well. I trimmed and styled the remaining hair and then used some hair gel to help it stay in place. I the added 2 coats of flocking to the bald part of his head.  Below are 2 other views:

I did participate in the crowd funding for the Lammily Boy doll. My dolls arrived just before Christmas. Meet Nicholas:

"Hi everybody! My name is Nicholas, but you can call me Nick. My sister Katie already lives in Hanaly Corners, so I was very glad to move here."

"Don't you think I am a handsome fellow??"
Jared: "Hey, man, it is time for us to do what she brought us in here to do!"
Nick:  "Umm, I've just been waiting on you. You just had to show off that fancy new hair cut you got!"
Jared: "Since you brought it up, I definitely think you need to do something with that hair of yours! You kinda look like an old man!
Nick: "Hey, watch it with the insults!"

Jared & Nick in unison: "Ok everybody here it is! I think you are going to like this!"
This is the Pink Passport clothing set from TRU. There are 10 pretty nice outfits here. I know some of you have this, but if you don't and you win, I think your dolls will love it!

What Happened to January???

Somebody please tell me where January went! I cannot believe it is already February and I haven't even done one blog post yet in 2017! I want to tell you that it is not because of my health this time! I have just been extremely busy. Alyssa was home from college for a month at Christmas time, so we spent a lot of time together just hanging out, shopping, talking watching movies together and so on. I am going to be getting my house interior painted, so I have been doing a lot of rearranging, organizing and purging of things I don't use anymore. I have been trying to organize the dolls. I keep most of my dolls in the basement, but I have a lot of dolls in my bedroom too. Here are few photos of the dolls I have in my room:

These are the ones on top of my armoire. I know you can't see them all!
I was trying to organize the dolls I put on Made to Move bodies -- these are all standing on my window ledge!
Here they are in sections so you can see them a little better.

I also just put together one of those cubicle shelves in my room and I have already loaded it up with dolls. I didn't take any photos of that yet though!

I also got a doll from my girls for Christmas. They gave me the Luciana Barbie! She is really pretty, but there were some things about her that I did not like.

Here she is out of the box. I don't quite get the white skirt. It almost looks like a doily and would be more suited to a country girl. Just doesn't seem to go with the night club dancer look! I hate to say it, but it looks like some you would use to cover up a roll of toilet paper or Kleenex box!
Here she is without the skirt. Her dancer/entertainer outfit is made of plastic. I was disappointed to see that the corset part of the ensemble was glued to her body. I saw photos on Flickr of someone who had tried to remove her outfit and it was quite a mess. I don't know if she ever got ever got it all off or not. I know it was basically destroyed in the process though! I did not attempt it!

Here is a close up of her face. She is stunning!
Not to be deterred, I decided to keep her costume on her body and I did a body swap for her to an Orange Top Made to Move doll. She quickly adapted to this body and has been redressed!

Ahhh, that feels better!
She was quick to thank her donor!

So what is next for my blog? I have not forgotten about my annual give-a-way. I have already purchased the items, so that will be coming up soon. I will again be giving away 4 or 5 different items!

I still want to do stories. I have been working on the continuation of the Carter-Winthrop saga and have stories in my head about the Gordon clan. There are many new residents in Hanaly Corners and some new places too. I appreciate those of you who do write stories regularly as I realize how much work goes into it.

So stay tuned! The first giveaway item will be posted this weekend!
